Benny feels that Aktia’s culture is very people-oriented.
Benny Broman joined Aktia 13 years ago straight after graduation through a trainee program for summer workers. His open mind and curiosity led to an interesting career that gives him meaning.
“In the trainee program, we had the opportunity to try all kinds of things, such as sales, cash register work, and other customer work. We also got to know the different departments and see how the bank really works. “The program was an excellent start for my career,” says Benny.
From customer service to manager and team leader
After the trainee program, Benny was offered a permanent position, first in Aktia's cashier services and then in customer service. He was allowed to participate in projects aimed at improving processes, which quickly aroused his interest in development work.
When a managerial position in the Digital Customer Service Team opened up, Benny decided to apply for it.
“It was a key step for me. My work as manager went well, and I was allowed to continue in the same unit as manager for other teams. Then I felt that I had found my thing,” says Benny.
About five years ago, Benny was tasked with forming a new presales team for Aktia. He is still leading the same team, although the team has grown to ten team members. The team's task is to process all secured loan applications received by the bank and, if necessary, schedule appointments with specialists.
In addition to leading presales, Benny heads Aktia's Personnel Office, which is responsible for matters related to loans and daily banking services for employees and their household family members.
A company like a large village
Benny feels that Aktia’s culture is very people-oriented.
We are a big company, but at the same time, quite a small one. “We know each other around the organisation, which makes cooperation smooth and enjoyable. And if you need help, you will always find someone to help you.”
As a manager, Benny wants to involve his team in decision-making and development.
“Running a team has always been a positive experience for me. It is nice to see team members grow and develop, and to brainstorm together about how we can make things even better.”
Artificial intelligence drives the financial sector forward
The financial sector is rapidly being digitised, and Benny has seen the transformation at close range. With AI, the subject is now perhaps more topical than ever.
“I find it interesting to see how AI can make work and everyday life easier and more efficient. I believe that it will bring a great deal of good and help both Aktia and the whole sector move forward. At the same time, it is a learning opportunity for us all,” he says.
Benny feels that Aktia offers many development and learning opportunities.
“I have had the opportunity to try many different things, which has enriched my career enormously. If you are curious and ready to face challenges, this is an excellent place to build a career.
