Aktia Bank Continues to Strengthen its Emerging Market Debt Team

Aktia continues to invest in asset management and, in particular, the EM debt team by hiring Ulla Huotari as portfolio manager for the Aktia Emerging Market Local Currency Frontier Bond strategy. Ulla Huotari holds a Master of Science in Economics and Business Administration and during her career has specialised in the area of impact investing.

Ulla Huotari has previously worked at the development financier Finnfund, where she served as an Investment Manager since 2018, leading investment projects in Africa, Asia and Latin America. In addition, Huotari has over ten years' worth of work experience in Treasury markets from both Finnfund and the Finnish publicly listed chemical company Kemira.

Huotari will strengthen Aktia’s EM team through her experience of Frontier and EM markets, and responsible investing. The Aktia Emerging Market Local Currency Frontier Bond fund is an EM fixed-income fund investing in local currency government debt of EM frontier countries and financing international development fund projects in these countries. The strategy's assets under management (AUM) amounts to approximately 1.7 billion euros.
