THE HOLDING OF HERIDITAS IN AKTIA SAVINGS BANK OVER 5%

Aktia Savings Bank Plc has been informed that through a purchase of shares
executed today 21 December 2004, The annuity insurance institute
Livränteanstalten Hereditas has increased its shareholding from 200,000 shares
to
1,800,000 shares of the total number of Aktia Savings Bank Plc shares of
35,258,050, therefore now holding 5.11 % of shares and voting rights.

The largest shareholder of Aktia Savings Bank Plc is the Helsingfors Savings
Bank
Foundation with its 20.5% holding.
