Tommi Marttila's responsibilities in Aktia have expanded quickly. He is now in charge of the IT services of asset management and life insurance business and is a member of the Aktia IT Executive Committee. Tommi is motivated by the opportunities for growth, continuous learning, and support for the development of people.
Tommi Marttila started working at Aktia in 2022 and was in charge of the development and maintenance of IT services within the life insurance business. In the spring of 2026, his responsibilities were extended to include also Aktia Asset Management's IT services, and at the same time he also joined the Aktia IT Executive Committee.
IT enables growth in business
Tommi finds his work very interesting since Aktia seeks growth especially within asset management and life insurance business.

IT’s role is to enable the development of growth based on the needs of the business. We handle the maintenance of current IT systems and develop new services at the same time”, says Tommi Marttila.
The diversity of the system portfolio poses its own challenges, but also other factors have an impact.
“Within insurance we are already on our way towards one main system and modern architecture, whereas asset management has just started its development towards this. The growing regulation also brings new demands. Although the development of AI opens up a lot of new possibilities, it also brings challenges. AI already has an impact on nearly every workplace, and it changes working methods significantly. With AI the pace of development increases in the whole sector.
