Implementing our strategy to be the leading wealth manager bank
In 2022, Aktia dealt with the same uncertainty in the operating environment as everyone else, but our message to customers remained the same: only by thinking on a long-term basis, beyond these difficult times, can it be possible to prosper systematically. Aktia has been creating wealth and well-being for its customers and for the society for 200 years, and as a publicly listed company Aktia is already over 10 years old. We are the best partner for people, companies and organisations that value inner wisdom and responsible wealth creation.
Twofold operating environment in 2022
In 2022, market uncertainty made the operating environment twofold for Aktia: the banking business was strengthened, and rising interest rates supported the growth of interest income. The declining stock market, on the other hand, weighed the assets managed by the fund managers, and rising interest rates burdened the value changes in the investment portfolio of the life insurance business. Despite the difficult market environment, it was important for Aktia to continue the determined implementation of its strategy.
Aktia's strategy
Aktia’s strategy, which extends to 2025, supports Aktia’s growth objectives and guides the company towards the vision of being "the leading wealth manager bank". The growth strategy is built on offering comprehensive wealth management services through close collaboration between Aktia’s three business areas: Asset Management, Banking, and Life Insurance.
Sustainable Aktia
Aktia’s vision is to be a leading wealth manager bank and we aim for sustainability-driven success. In 2022 we took important steps towards a more sustainable future. We signed the UN Principles for Responsible Banking and published the first fund-specific ESG reports. We also refined our climate strategy and defined interim targets for 2025 and 2030. In addition to these, we updated our sustainability program, which defines our sustainability goals for the coming years.
